We have every confidence that God is in control with all the things that have happened with just this episode. Ron felt two bumps just below the leg surgery he had before. He was in Gowda's office almost immediately, got a MRI, an Ultrasound and a Pet Scan was ordered (a trailer came from St. Louis to Graham Hospital just for him) all in a week and a half. Gowda wasn't expecting a Pet Scan until this week some time.
Ron's doctor, Dr. Veeder, is in the Caner Center in Peoria. He is the best in Peoria. We will be having a consultation with him
hopefully early this week and be in Chicago at the end of this week. Our
original appointment was to be on Marin Luther King Day, but all the tests are
done, so hopefully they will move it up.
We have everything at our jobs covered so they know we could
leave at a moments notice. There are 4 cancer treatment centers in
Chicago, but we don't know which one he will go to yet. The last leg surgery he was off 3
weeks. The Ultrasound tech was a friend of mine and she said there were several
areas this time on his leg, so we expect it to be longer.
The surgery will probably be right above his knee, so I will
have to get a wheelchair to haul him around in after his surgery. His other
three surgeries were out-patient, but this surgery is extensive, so I don't
know if they will keep him overnight or not. Anyway, if they don't, We will
stay in a Hotel overnight before I put him in the car for 3 1/2 hours and bring
him home.
So that is where we are at right now. We are a little more
prepared this time and have our ducks in a row. He is in no pain and never have
been through all of his Cancer episodes, at least not until after the
surgeries.
